Pundit Poll Predicts Hillary Clinton Carries Michigan in November on Her Way to the White House
Lansing, MI – He came to Michigan and won. She came and lost. Still, in the wake of yesterday’s presidential primary elections, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton appear to remain the presumptive nominees for their respective parties. The Pundit Poll is looking ahead to November.
The Pundit Poll asked, “Who will win Michigan? Clinton. Trump. Or other.”
Overwhelmingly, 77 percent believe Hillary Clinton will carry the state of Michigan in the November General Election. A win for Clinton would continue a nearly 30 year run of Michigan going with the Democratic nominee for President.
“Democrats are emphatic about Hillary Clinton winning Michigan and being the 45th President of the United States,” Dennis Denno, president of Denno Research, said. “If our Pundit Poll mirrors reality, 2016 will be another landslide year for the Dems, but there is a long way to go between now and Election Day.”
The Pundits are equally bullish when it comes to Hillary Clinton’s chances for the presidency in a race against The Donald.
Question: In November, who will win the White House? Clinton. Trump. Or other.
67 percent of the Pundits believe Clinton will go on to win the General Election fight in November. 22 percent of the Pundits believe that America will be great again with Trump. 11 percent are looking… hoping… for “Other” for President.
“The campaign chair of the #NeverTrump movement appears to be Hillary Clinton,” said Matt Resch of Resch Strategies.
Unsurprisingly, 96 percent of Democrats think Clinton will win the presidency and 53 percent of Republicans think she will. Only 32 percentof Republicans think Trump will win the presidency.
The Pundit Poll is a new survey on the latest political news and issues in Michigan. The survey uses emails to collect the compiled and confidential responses from political strategists, consultants, and insiders across Michigan, with the goal of offering an insider’s look at the political issues facing the state. A full list of the nearly 100 pundits in the poll can be found at: www.thepunditpoll.com.
Methodology:
This was a Resch Strategies/Denno Research survey of Michigan political experts, pundits, and members of the media. 100 respondents were invited and 78 responded. The survey was emailed Monday, March 7 and the survey was closed Tuesday, March 8, 2016.
