CARSON OVER CLINTON BY TWO POINTS; CLINTON LEADING TRUMP BY EIGHT

In the latest survey quarterly survey of Michigan voters conducted by Denno Research, Ben Carson has a two point lead over Hillary Clinton, 38%-36%.  When the choices were Donald Trump v. Hillary Clinton, Clinton had an eight point lead, 42%-34%.

 

The questions were:

  • If the election for President was held today, and the choices were (ROTATE) Hillary Clinton the Democrat or Ben Carson the Republican, who do you think you would vote for?
  • Hillary Clinton the Democrat      216     36.0 %
  • Ben Carson the Republican          226     37.7 %
  • Other/Unsure/DNK (DO NOT OFFER) 158   26.3 %

 

  • If the election for President was held today, and the choices were (ROTATE) Hillary Clinton the Democrat or Donald  Trump the Republican, who do you think you would vote for?
  • Hillary Clinton the Democrat            254   42.3%
  • Donald Trump the Republican         206    34.3 %
  • Other/Unsure/DNK (DO NOT OFFER) 140   23.3 %
  • When paired with Carson, Clinton only receives 38% support from female voters, but that increases to 47% against Trump, an increase of +9.
  • While Carson gets 37% of self-identified Independents, Trump only gets 29%, a drop of -8.
  • Against Carson, Clinton only gets 27% of Independent voters, but against Trump she gets 34%, an increase of +7.
